Recently, the urban design scheme of Motuo County, Xizang, completed by the Zhongying Urban Design Team led by Professor Chen Keshi, passed the expert review and was highly recognized by the experts present.
Professor Chen Keshi is committed to building Motuo into the "most beautiful county town in China" with the core concept of "Menluo Architecture · Garden City". The design scheme adheres to the principle of "complete form, landscape priority", optimizes urban public spaces, improves supporting facilities, constructs efficient transportation networks, enhances architectural style and environmental quality, and comprehensively shapes the ecological friendly and unique urban image of Motuo.
The architectural style is based on the traditional architecture of Menluo, with a modern, fashionable, and distinctive urban form. It interprets traditional architecture in a modern way and combines it with the traditional architectural style of the Motuo region to propose a design plan and implementation guidelines for the future architectural style of Motuo County.
At the same time, by building a new cross river bridge and optimizing the vehicle and pedestrian systems, it will closely connect the central urban area of Motuo with Dexing Township, promoting coordinated development between the two sides.
Relying on the global rare biodiversity and vertical ecological belt, build Xizang's only "tropical botanical garden" and scientific research tourism complex, and express the miracle of life and beautiful mountains and rivers of the the Yarlung Zangbo River with the Yarlung Zangbo Museum. The the Yarlung Zangbo River Bridge will become the most attractive landmark building and tourist clocking point in Motuo County.
After careful discussion and research, the expert group composed of Bian Lanchun, Zhuang Yu, Zhu Rongyuan, and Zhang Tianxin from the Urban Design Academic Committee of the China Urban Planning Society believes that the design scheme takes the overall spatial style as the principle, systematically improves the style skeleton of urban development, and the update strategy of breaking down the current architectural form to reduce the sense of volume is appropriate in the general direction. The botanical garden, water street, and other areas enrich the content of urban space, which conforms to the basic characteristics of Motuo County in terms of spatial design concept, forms a basic management and control guidance framework, and lays the foundation for further deepening optimization.
The attending experts evaluated that the research on this plan was solid, fully combined with the characteristics of the mountains, with distinctive features and clear and operable plans for improvement. The structure was organically integrated with the characteristics of the mountains, and the urban area was well rooted in the natural landscape; The structure of urban design is clear, and gardens and squares have a good cohesion for the overall form organization; Marking public buildings plays a leading role in the overall style; The architectural style of Motumenbaluo Ba is characterized by distinct features, with detailed element extraction and detailed menus.
